During the workshops you will learn step by step how to groom your own Doodle and to maintain it yourself.

Doodle Comfort X-Perience weekend
There is a lot of false information about Labradoodle coat care, which is a shame, because most Doodle owners start to panic when they can't find the right answers to their problems.
So if I am going to the trouble of travelling your way, I really want to make it worth while and give you as much information as I can, so you can benefit from it all your (Doodle's) life.

What are the costs if you would not attend the workshops?
Even though some breeders will tell you that Doodles and Water dogs need little maintenance, that brushing your dog on a weekly basis and having it groomed once a year should suffice, reality paints a different picture.
Because of their double, continuously shedding coat, Water dogs and Doodles might probably be the most high maintenance dogs in the world.
You do not notice much of this in the first few (puppy) months. That is why a lot of Doodles and Water dogs are being groomed when it is too late, usually only after de changing of coats (7 to 12 months). This results in most cases in a bald clipped dog, because the dog groomer doesn’t know how to deal with all the tangles and mats.
That is unfortunate for you, but imagine what that is like for your dog? A bald clipped coat misses the protection against cold and rain. It exposes the skin literally to the weather influences, allergies etc. In summer the skin will burn much easier, in winter it is not protected against cold, wetness and snow. Clipping the coat bald is usually done with a very short (clip-on)comb, which pushes the felt of the coat away, by which the skin easily gets damaged.
Doodle as a poodle
When your dog is not tangled or matted, then chances are that the grooming salon will return your dog looking like a poodle, because most dog groomers have no knowledge of how to groom these particular coats and they have gained their experience mostly by grooming solely on poodles.
Having your Doodle shaved in unneccesary and ugly ways
In the USA it is common to have parts of a Doodle shaved, that do not need shaving, like the "air shaft" below the ears. These ways of grooming do not only look ugly, they serve no purpose at all and can cause skin irritations on top of that. There is a more natural way of grooming that has the same benefits, without harming your Doodle or making it look strange.
Do it yourself without professional guidance of a coat maintenance expert
Brushing only is not sufficient to keep the coat of your dog tangle free and healthy. The best thing to do is to cut a piece of the coat every two months, so the coat remains shiny and tangle free.
In addition, the ears need to be plucked regularly, the feet need to be cut and with thick coats the coat needs to be thinned. Just to sum up a few things.
It is not wise to do this yourself without professional guidance and training. There are the risks of ear infections, skin problems, matting, accidents because of cutting with blunt, unsuitable scissors or/and not having attached your dog to the grooming table.
These risks are far too big.
Many breeders and owners often do not realize this and take advice about the grooming methods and grooming equipment of people who are NO specialists in dog coats, so the coat does not get the proper treatment and the basic maintenance. The result is that for instance, the ears are being forgotten or that it gets done in the wrong way, which will cause your dog pain and discomfort.
By learning how to groom from a professional, you take the health of your dog literally in your own hands
In addition you learn how to let your dog look at its best, in a model that suits their bone structure and the appeal of their head. When you, after you have participated in the workshops, cut a little piece of the coat every two months and see to the basic maintenance, your dog will always look top notch and his health is guaranteed, also because you have learned how to recognize symtoms of discomfort or some illnesses.
By the way: wouldn't you love to establish a stronger relationship with your dog, by grooming it yourself, in stead of having it groomed by someone else? A bond, based on mutual trust and teamwork that will last a dog life long?
How much does a professional grooming workshop cost?
Because I want to be able to divide my attention evenly among all participants only 5 participants can enlist in every workshop.
So there will be plenty of room for me to offer each participant the attention and coaching that he/she deserves and which will lead to a nice end result.
Because I only accept 5 participants each time, my prices are accordingly.
